Annie Egan

Trustee at University of North Florida

Annie Egan of Jacksonville, Florida is a pediatrician and partner with the Carithers Pediatric Group. She currently serves as the Chief of Pediatrics at St. Vincent's Hospital and is a member of the faculties of Wolfson Children's Hospital and Shands Hospital. Annie served on the Jacksonville Children's Commission from 2004 until 2012 and served as Board Chair from 2009 to 2011. She also has served on the boards of the Jacksonville-based Brewer Learning Center, PACE Center for Girls, and Jacksonville Community Council, Inc. In 2012 and 2014, she served on the management teams of two JCCI Inquiries, which focused needs of Jacksonville's youngest citizens, children ages 0 to 3, and on Mental Health.

For her accomplishments in caring for children, she was recognized by Volunteers in Medicine as a Women of Heart in February 2017. She has also served on the Central Selection Committee of the Morehead-Cain Foundation in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and the Board of Trustees of St. Andrew's School in Middletown, Delaware. Currently, she serves on the boards of the Reinhold Corporation, the Teton Valley Education Foundation, in Jackson, Wyoming and the St. Mark's Episcopal Day School. Dr. Egan received her undergraduate degree with Honors and Highest Distinction in History and Economics from the University of North Carolina where she was a Morehead Scholar. She received her Doctorate of Medicine with Honors from the Yale School of Medicine.

Annie is the wife of George Egan, and the mother of twin boys, aged 22 and twin girls, aged 19. She is a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday School for nine years.

Dr. Egan was appointed to the University of North Florida Board of Trustees by the Florida Board of Governors January 2018, for a term ending January 2023.
