Dawit Senbet

Faculty Senate Chair, Professor & Department Chair, Economics at University of Northern Colorado

Dawit Senbet is a distinguished academic in the field of Economics with extensive experience in higher education. Currently, Dawit serves as Chair of the Faculty Senate and Professor of Economics at the University of Northern Colorado since August 2011, previously holding positions as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of Economics. Courses taught include econometrics, intermediate macroeconomics, and principles of macro and microeconomics, alongside conducting research in monetary and macroeconomics, economic growth, and development economics. Earlier, between August 2007 and June 2011, Dawit was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Bloomsburg University, focusing on similar subjects and research areas. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Monetary and Macroeconomics, Applied Econometrics, and Labor Economics from Western Michigan University, complemented by dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics from Addis Ababa University.
