Chris Cross

Chris Cross is an Honorary Professor in Process Technology Transfer at The University of Nottingham, a position held since 2008. Previously, Chris served as the President of the Mineral Industry Research Organisation from 2006 to 2011. Prior to these roles, Chris worked at Rio Tinto from November 1966 to June 2008 as the Manager of External Research, focusing on process and materials research and development, as well as consultancy for mining and metallurgical companies, with a specialization in developing external research projects in Europe and Canada. Academic qualifications include a BSc and PhD in Metallurgy from the University of Wales, Cardiff, completed between 1960 and 1966.
