Horia Alexandru Maior is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the University of Nottingham and the Head of Research for fNIRS at Brain Data Group, focusing on interdisciplinary projects that integrate neuroscience, neurotechnology, artificial intelligence, and Responsible Innovation. Currently serving on the Board of Trustees for The Foundation For Science and Technology, as well as acting as Secretary and a founding board member for the Inspire Foundation Nottingham, Horia also holds the position of Technology Officer at RatedDoctor.com. Previously, Horia served as a Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Lincoln and has extensive experience within the Brain Data Group as an EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellow and PhD researcher, where research emphasized Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) and functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) in relation to mental workload and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Horia's educational background includes a PhD in Digital Economy Research from the University of Nottingham and a BSc in Computer Science from Swansea University.
