Christian Umeobika

Christian Umeobika, PhD, currently serves as the Manager of the Radiochemistry Laboratory at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute since November 2022. Previously, Christian held positions as PET Development and Production Radiochemist at The Royal's Institute of Mental Health Research and as a Scientist in Radiochemistry at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Christian's expertise encompasses the operation and programming of various GE modules and a cyclotron for the production of isotopes. With a background in academia, Christian has experience as a Mathematics and Chemistry Instructor at Nova Scotia Community College and as a University Lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Christian completed a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at the University of Aberdeen, as well as Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Chemistry from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Additionally, Christian acquired a Post-graduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Research and Development from the Toronto Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology.
