Talal al-Atassi

Talal Al-Atassi has a strong background in cardiac surgery and has held various roles at prestigious medical institutions. Talal began their career as a Cardiac Surgery Resident at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in 2009 and served as Chief Resident from 2011 to 2014. Talal then went on to work as an Advanced Aortic Fellow at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from 2015 to 2016. Following that, they were a Structural Heart Fellow at Emory Healthcare from 2016 to 2017. Since 2017, they have been working at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute as a Cardiac Surgeon, where they currently serve as the Cardiac Surgery Residency Program Director.

Talal Al-Atassi completed their education with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Harvard University in 2013, specializing in Research Methodology and Quantitative Methods. Prior to that, they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from McGill University between 2004 and 2009, focusing on Medicine.
