Ville-Valtteri Visuri

Ville-Valtteri Visuri is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as an Associate Professor, Research Group Leader, and Deputy Head of the Research Unit at the University of Oulu since January 2011. Specialized in "Sustainable Primary Metallurgy of Steelmaking," Ville-Valtteri leads the Primary Metallurgy Research Group focusing on various steelmaking processes, including hot metal pretreatments and electric arc furnaces. As Chair of the Executive Board at the Centre for Advanced Steels Research and an Academy Research Fellow for the Research Council of Finland, Ville-Valtteri aims to advance CO2-lean electric arc furnace steelmaking. Additionally, roles in business development and advisory positions at Luxmet and Teknoventure Oy, coupled with previous research and managerial experiences at Outokumpu and RWTH Aachen University, demonstrate a well-rounded expertise in metallurgy and industrial processes. Ville-Valtteri's academic qualifications include a Doctor of Science (Technology) in Process Engineering from the University of Oulu and extensive pedagogical training.
