Chathura Withanage

Chathura Withanage, PhD, currently serves as the Regional Head of Automation at Midas Safety, focusing on identifying process bottlenecks and implementing solutions across various technological domains. In addition to this role, Chathura is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Peradeniya, teaching subjects related to Engineering Product Design and Smart Manufacturing. Previous experience includes significant leadership positions at Central Group, facilitating transformation strategies and data governance, and at Asia Digital Engineering, where Chathura drove digital transformation initiatives and developed efficiency-improving systems. Chathura also has an extensive research background from academia, contributing to numerous projects and frameworks in engineering and innovation across multiple institutions, including Nanyang Technological University and Singapore University of Technology and Design. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Systems and Engineering Management and an MSc in Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
