Ruth Williams-Brinkley

Ruth Williams-Brinkley is a trustee at University of Phoenix. Ruth was previously the president and CEO of Carondelet Health Network from January 2008 to December 2011. Williams-Brinkley has extensive experience as a system executive and local/regional health system CEO. Ruth is successful in partnership development, post-merger integration, operations improvement/turnarounds, and team development. Ruth also excels in shaping cultures at all levels: governance, executive, physician, managers, etc.

Williams-Brinkley was the inaugural president/CEO of a newly merged system. Ruth recruited and developed an executive team and integrated the system operations of three very distinct legacy organizations (Catholic, Jewish, Academic/state-owned), including campus/facility rationalization/consolidation. Ruth also successfully merged two large, very culturally distinct physician groups into one statewide group with a robust effective governance structure.

Under their leadership, the financial performance of the combined organizations significantly improved. Ruth also developed and implemented an ACO/clinically integrated network to facilitate movement to population health.
