Joseph Costello currently serves as the Associate Head for Research and Innovation and is a Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology at the University of Portsmouth, positions held since January 2015. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, Queensland University of Technology, and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Exercise Physiology at the same institution. Joseph’s research focuses on physical activity and cryotherapy, particularly its effects on flexibility, balance, force reproduction, and joint position sense, with a concern for injury predisposition among athletes. Joseph holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Mathematics from the University of Limerick.
