Sylvia E.

Sylvia E. is an accomplished historian and academic, currently serving as Professor Emerita at the University of Roehampton since October 2020, following a tenure as Professor from January 2017 to August 2020. Prior to this, Sylvia E. held the position of Professor of International History and Head of Humanities at Northumbria University from March 2013 to December 2016. Sylvia E. has also served as Treasurer for the British Association for American Studies from April 2012 to April 2014 and has a notable academic career at Northumbria University, which included roles as Reader in History, Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching, and Acting Head of Humanities from January 2000 to January 2013. Earlier in the career, Sylvia E. was a Senior Lecturer in History at Sunderland University from 1994 to 2000 and began with an administrative role at British Steel from 1981 to 1985. Educational qualifications include a PhD in History from Newcastle University, an MA in History from the University of Rhode Island, and a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Newcastle.
