Abigail Stepnitz

Abigail Stepnitz currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of San Diego, with prior experience as an Assistant Professor in Law, Politics & Society at Drake University. Stepnitz has a robust background in research, policy analysis, and education, focusing on issues such as legal studies, human trafficking, and gender-based violence. Previous roles include project monitoring and evaluation with the European Commission, consultancy for the International Organization for Migration, and leadership positions in organizations supporting asylum seekers and trafficking victims. Stepnitz holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, and additional degrees from The London School of Economics, the University of Cape Town, and the University of San Francisco.
