Andrew Halterman is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Michigan State University since August 2022, having previously served as a Faculty Fellow at New York University from September 2021 to August 2022. Halterman completed a PhD in Political Science and Government at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where research focused on automated political information extraction and network detection. Professional experience includes roles as a Machine Learning Engineer at Kensho Technologies and as a Data Scientist on a freelance basis. As an Analyst at Caerus Associates, Halterman contributed to projects involving political data modeling and geocoding methodologies. Furthermore, research internships at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a Fulbright Fellowship at the KIPRED–Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development enriched Halterman’s scholarly expertise. Education culminated with a BA magna cum laude in political science and international relations from Amherst College.
