Dorothy Kidd is a seasoned academic and media professional with extensive experience in media studies and advocacy. Serving as a Professor at the Department of Media Studies at the University of San Francisco since 1998, Dorothy has contributed significantly to the field. Additionally, involvement as a Participant in Our Media/Nuestros Medios from 2002 to 2017 and serving as Co-Chair on the Board of Directors at Media Alliance from 2006 to 2008 highlights commitment to media equity and community engagement. Earlier career work includes the role of Training Coordinator at Wawatay Native Communications Society in 1986-1987. Dorothy's educational foundation was established at Simon Fraser University, where studies took place from 1988 to 1998.
