Riccardo Desalvo

Riccardo DeSalvo is a seasoned professional in the field of physics and engineering with extensive experience in nuclear power, gravitational wave observatories, and material science. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at Ultra Safe Nuclear Italia since August 2022, Riccardo coordinates efforts to provide nuclear power for industrial applications. As a Guest Professor at the University of Sannio, contributions to the development of advanced dielectric mirror coatings are made while also being a member of the 'Collegio di Dottorato.' Riccardo founded Riclab LLC, focusing on consulting and the development of haptic technologies, and previously worked as a Technical Consultant for Oculus VR. Engagement in academic settings includes roles as a Senior Resident Scientist and Physics Teacher at California State University-Los Angeles, where a focus on mentoring underrepresented students in STEM is prioritized. A background in seismic attenuation systems was established through positions at KAGRA, LIGO, and Virgo observatories. Riccardo holds a Doctorate in Physics from Università di Pisa.
