Michael Nickerson is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as a Professor and Saskatchewan Research Chair in Protein Quality and Utilization at the University of Saskatchewan, where tenure began in March 2006. Michael has held various roles within the university, including acting Head of Department and Associate Professor. Additionally, Michael was the President of the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology from July 2016 to May 2019, and served as Editor in Chief for Canadian Food Insights during the same period. Michael's academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Food Science, a Master of Science in Food Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, all obtained from Dalhousie University between 1994 and 2004, with a postdoctoral fellowship completed there from January 2005 to February 2006.
