Nicolas Riesen

Nicolas Riesen is an accomplished researcher and entrepreneur with extensive experience in the field of photonics and optical data storage. Currently serving as an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of South Australia since July 2016, Nicolas focuses on the R&D of optofluidic sensors and optical data storage platforms while also developing grants for collaborative projects between industry and academia. As a Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Modular Photonics since May 2015, Nicolas engages in sales, marketing, and website development. Prior roles include a Senior Research Fellow at the University of South Australia and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Adelaide, where Nicolas mentored PhD students and contributed to various photonics projects within a prestigious ARC Laureate Fellowship team. Nicolas holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, as well as dual Bachelor's degrees in Physics and Engineering from The Australian National University.
