John Dudley

John Dudley serves as the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of South Dakota since August 2003, and also holds the position of Professor of English. Dudley's extensive academic career includes roles as Interim Dean, Associate Dean, Associate Professor, Chair of the English Department, and Coordinator of Graduate Studies within the same institution. Prior to this, Dudley was an Assistant Professor of English at Southern Arkansas University from August 2000 to May 2003, and worked as a Special Assistant to the Chief at the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress from 1988 to 1993. Dudley earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in English Language and Literature from Tulane University, a Master of Arts (M.A.) from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Cornell University.
