Sean Smith currently serves as the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at the University of South Dakota, a position held since May 2024. Prior to this, Sean was the Head Men's Basketball Coach at North Park University from April 2022 to April 2024, where notable achievements included being named the D3 Hoops National Coach of the Year in 2023, leading the team to a 24-win season and the CCIW Tournament Championship, and securing the program's first NCAA Division III National Tournament win since 1987. Sean's coaching experience also includes roles as the Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Wisconsin Lutheran College, Head Boys Basketball Coach at Kenosha Christian Life School, and Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Orange County High School. As a player, Sean competed for Trinity International University, where notable accomplishments included serving as team captain and participating in the NAIA Elite 8. Sean holds a Master of Organizational Leadership/Sports Management from Waldorf University and a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies from Trinity International University.
