Thav Thambi

Thav Thambi has a strong background in surgery, with experience in various leadership roles. Thav served as a Transplant surgeon at Wright State University from March 2006 to October 2010, where they gained expertise in the field. Thambi then moved to Sanford Health in November 2010, taking on the role of Transplant Surgical Director. Since July 2012, they have been serving as the Surgery Residency Program Director at The University of South Dakota. Thambi's career showcases their leadership and expertise in the field of surgery.

Thav Thambi completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree from the University of Galway in 1996. Thav then pursued further education, including an internship at University College Hospital Galway in 1996-1997, followed by general surgery residency programs at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, University of Pennsylvania, and Drexel University College of Medicine. Thav continued their education with research fellowships in human islet cell transplant at the University of Pennsylvania and a transplant surgery fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. Thav completed their academic journey with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Health Care from the University of St. Thomas in 2014.
