Colin MacLay

Colin Maclay is a distinguished Research Professor of Communication at the University of Southern California, serving as Executive Director of the Annenberg Innovation Lab since July 2016, where research focuses on innovation, emerging technologies, equity, and sustainability. Previously, Colin held significant roles at Harvard University, including Managing Director and Faculty Associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, contributing to strategic leadership and research in Internet and societal issues. Colin was also the Founding Director of the Digital Initiative at Harvard Business School, aimed at understanding digital transformation in business. Additional experience includes serving as a Founding Board Member of the Global Network Initiative and holding research and leadership positions at various academic and consulting organizations. Colin holds a Master’s of Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a PhD in Law, Policy, and Society from Northeastern University.
