Carmel O'Sullivan is a seasoned library and information professional with extensive experience in academic and cultural services. Currently serving as the University Librarian and Director of Library Services at the University of Southern Queensland since December 2013, O'Sullivan leads a team of approximately 75 staff through a transformative era for the library. Previous roles include leadership positions within the Council of Australian University Librarians, QULOC, and managerial positions in cultural services, notably at the City of Subiaco. O'Sullivan's earlier career includes significant roles at the University of Western Australia, Edith Cowan University, Blake Dawson Waldron, and the University of Queensland, where expertise in research, learning support, and legal research education was developed. O'Sullivan holds a BA, LLB from The University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Science from QUT, complemented by training from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
