Harald Rotter

Harald Rotter is the current head of IT at the University of St. Gallen. Prior to this, they served as the head ICT Group/CIO and member of the core team at PLASTON from August 2016 to September 2017. There, they were responsible for leading a global ICT department across different time zones, overseeing all activities in the areas of operations, project management, leadership, process development, and strategy development and implementation. Additionally, they oversaw the establishment of IT Service Management based on ITILv3, as well as topics related to Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT).

From August 2014 to June 2016, Harald served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and member of the executive board at www.citius.ch. In this role, they were responsible for the overall management of the company, including defining and driving strategy, acting as an escalation team, and preparing and executing decisions of the GL and Board of Directors.

Harald Rotter has an Executive MBA in Management in Technology from Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg, a BUSINESS ANALYTICS: DECISION MAKING USING DATA from Cambridge Judge Business School, and various internal courses (physical or online/WBT) from University of St.Gallen. Harald is also a Corporate Data Protection Officer from Swiss InfoSec, a CAS Digital Business Development from University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, and has a Certificate in Programm in Design Thinking for Digital Business Development from New York University. Finally, they have a Master of Advanced Studies in Business Information Management from Fachhochschule St.Gallen (FHO), and is also certified in Management by Objectives (MbO) & Coaching from the same school. Harald has also completed a Fundamentals of Economics course from Fachhochschule St.Gallen (FHO), and a Successful negotiation course from Managment Institute St. Gallen (SGMI).

Harald Rotter works with Edeltraud Haas - Director of Library, Gaby Heeb - Director WBZ, and Roger Kellenberger - Head of Finance. Their manager is Bruno Hensler, Director of Administration.
