Jonas Fossli Gjersø is an accomplished academic currently serving as the Current Debates Editor for The Journal of Imperial and Commonwealth History and as the Academic Programme Director for History at the University of Stavanger, where also holds the position of Associate Professor. Previously, Jonas has contributed as a Foreleser at BI Norwegian Business School and held various roles, including Examiner at the University of Oslo and Forskerkontakt for The Holberg Prize. A postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Oslo, Jonas focused on the history of Statoil’s international expansion between 1978 and 2014. Educationally, Jonas holds a PhD in International History and an MSc in the History of Empires from The London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as a BSc (Hons) in Maritime Business with Maritime Law from the University of Plymouth.
