Campbell Booth has extensive experience in academia and industry, serving as Vice Dean for Research and Head of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde since 1994. Campbell has held various academic and research positions, including post-doctoral roles at the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre, prior to leading the department since August 2017. In addition, Campbell is the Applications Director at Synaptec Ltd, contributing to innovative solutions in the power industries by integrating photonics, electronics, and instrumentation. Campbell was also involved with CIGRE from 2013 to 2015 as a working group member. Educational qualifications include a BEng and a PhD in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, along with prior education at St Columba's and St Stephen's.
