Susan Spesyvtseva has a strong background in physics and knowledge exchange, currently serving as the Associate Dean (Knowledge Exchange) and Deputy Director of Knowledge Exchange in Physics at the University of Strathclyde since May 2017. Previous roles at the University of St Andrews included Research Fellow, where Susan conducted projects related to optical and acoustic trapping for medical diagnostics. Additionally, Susan participated in a British Science Associate Media Fellowship at BBC Science, contributing to a documentary on the science of color. Research experience also encompassed postdoctoral work at Osaka University focusing on optical forces and nanoparticle synthesis, as well as a PhD in Physics from University College London, where Susan specialized in optical micromanipulation. Susan has held editorial positions, including Editor-in-Chief of Opticon1826, a peer-reviewed academic journal.
