Will Shu

Will Shu is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as the Hay Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde since June 2016 and as an Emeritus Member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh's Young Academy of Scotland since October 2016. Will's experience includes membership in the RSE Young Academy from September 2011 to September 2016 and a prior role as Reader in Microengineering at Heriot-Watt University from 2007 to 2016. Additional academic contributions include a visiting scholar position at Stanford University in 2011 and a postdoctoral research associate role at the University of Cambridge from 2006 to 2007, focusing on biochemical microsensors. Will holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering specialized in Nanotechnology from the University of Cambridge and several advanced degrees in materials science and engineering.
