Giovanni Lo Iacono is a Senior Lecturer in Biostatistics/Epidemiology at the University of Surrey since September 2017, previously serving as a Lecturer in the same field. Prior experience includes a position as a Biostatistician at Public Health England from January 2015 to August 2017, and as a Scientist at the University of Cambridge's Department of Veterinary Medicine from April 2011 to January 2015, where mathematical models for infectious disease spread were developed. Giovanni also worked as a Research Scientist and Visiting Worker at Rothamsted from November 2004 to March 2011, focusing on stochastic mathematical models for insect flight patterns. Earlier roles include a Research Scientist at Silsoe Research Institute, developing stochastic models for particle transport, and teaching electronics at a Technical Secondary School in Milan. Military service involved leadership training. Giovanni holds a PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics and a degree in Physics from the University of Warwick and Università degli Studi di Milano, respectively.
