James Aitken

James Aitken is a seasoned academic and management consultant with extensive experience in leadership and operations. Currently a Professor and Head of Department at the University of Surrey since 2009, Aitken also oversees the Business Transformation & Sustainable Enterprise department. Aitken has been the owner of drja consultancy since January 2000 and served as a partner at MURADI LLP from 2006 to 2014. Previous roles include senior consultant at SA Partners and managing director positions at IBL Lighting, Celuform, and Concord Lighting. Aitken's early career included a logistics manager role at Philips Lighting. Aitken holds a PhD in Operations Management and Supervision from Cranfield University and two MBAs from Strathclyde Business School.
