Katie Bennett

Katie Bennett has extensive work experience in the field of health and safety. Katie is currently the Head of Health & Safety at the University of Sussex, a position they have held since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Brighton & Hove City Council from 2005 to 2021. During their time there, they held various roles, including Interim Head of Health & Safety and Senior Health & Safety Business Partner. Katie also served as the Compliance & Transformation Manager for a brief period. Before joining the council, Katie worked at Tube Lines Ltd as a Health & Safety Advisor and as a Health & Safety Graduate.

Katie Bennett has a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Geography from Brunel University London. Katie also holds certifications in Implementing BS OHSAS 18001:2007 internal auditor and management system from BSI, and is a Chartered Member of IOSH. Additionally, they have certifications in NEBOSH General Certificate and NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety from NEBOSH.
