Lara Duke

Lara Duke, EdD, currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Fraser Valley, beginning in September 2023. In this role, Lara Duke leads efforts to enhance the educational experience of Health Sciences students through faculty support and strategic alignment with university mission. Prior to this, Lara Duke held the position of Dean for the Faculty of Global and Community Studies at Capilano University from August 2019 to August 2023, where responsibilities included collaborating on university-wide planning and overseeing the Bachelor of Kinesiology degree’s initiation. Lara Duke’s previous experience includes significant roles at Douglas College as a Sport Science Faculty Instructor and Department Chair, along with consulting in motion analysis and research coordination at The University of British Columbia. Lara Duke earned an EdD in Educational Leadership in Higher Education from Western University and holds an M.Sc. in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Florida, complemented by a B.Sc. cum laude in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University.
