Zara Grant is a PhD Researcher at the University of the West of Scotland, currently focusing on research since October 2025. Prior experience includes serving as a Children's Rights and Sport Specialist at UNICEF UK from May 2021 to October 2025, where Zara's work centered on integrating human and child rights into the planning and execution of Mega-Sporting Events. From April 2016 to April 2021, Zara worked as a Senior Communications and Public Affairs Officer for the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission, contributing to initiatives on sport and human rights, including the Declaration on Sport & Human Rights. Previous roles include Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Digital Communications Assistant at Freckle Magazine, Trainee Reporter at Johnston Press, and Co-director of Education at Marine Conservation Northern Ireland, among others. Zara holds a Master of Arts in History and Film and Television Studies from the University of Glasgow and a Master of Laws in Human Rights and Criminal Justice from Queen's University Belfast.
