John Chelsom is an experienced academia and industry professional with a robust background in health informatics and engineering. Currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Victoria since February 2015, Chelsom also holds the position of CEO at Seven Informatics Limited since January 2013. Notably, as Program Director for the MS in Applied Health Informatics at Fordham University from June 2020 to July 2025, Chelsom successfully created and directed the program for its first four cohorts. Chelsom's consultancy experience includes developing the Handbook for Rural Telemedicine in Ukraine for The World Bank between 2018 and 2020. An accomplished academic, Chelsom has held positions such as Visiting Professor at the Centre for Health Informatics, City University, London, and Partner at Eleven Informatics. Previously, Chelsom served as Deputy Chairman and Managing Director at CSW Group Ltd and its subsidiary, CSW Informatics Ltd. Chelsom's educational background includes a degree in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Knowledge Based Systems in Medicine from City St George’s, University of London.
