Scott C. Beardsley

Scott C. Beardsley is the current Dean of the School of Business at the University of Virginia. Prior to their current position, they served as the Chair of the Board for the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium from January 2008 to December 2015. In this role, they were responsible for leading and recruiting a Board of Directors of 20+ top executives and CEOs, interface with Belgian Prime Minister and Ministers, EU President Herman Van Rompuy, US Ambassadors to Belgium and the EU, CEOs, and numerous other policy makers. Scott was also responsible for policy shaping on key issues such as tax and labor and wage policy, regulation, human resources, national productivity, research, education and innovation policies. Additionally, they oversaw sponsorships, fund-raising, networking, giving speeches/press conferences, hosting events, influencing key decision makers, and guiding the full-time management organization and member-led committees via shared governance.

Scott C. Beardsley began their educational career by attending East Anchorage High School in Anchorage, Alaska, where they graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Scott then attended Tufts University and earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. Beardsley continued their education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning a Master of Science in management. Finally, they attended the University of Pennsylvania, where they earned a Doctor of Education with distinction in higher education management.

Scott C. Beardsley reports to Ian B. Baucom, EVP & Provost. They work with Nicole Thorne Jenkins - Dean of the McIntire School of Commerce, Susan M. Pollart - Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development, School of Medicine, and Robyn Hadley - Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Office and Dean of Students.
