Ashmitha Rajendran

Ashmitha Rajendran is a PhD candidate and NLM fellow at the University of Washington, specializing in bioinformatics and medical education, with an expected graduation in 2025. Currently working in Dr. Siobhan Pattwell's lab at Seattle Children's Research Institute, Ashmitha has significant experience in biomedical data science, previously serving as Lead Biomedical Data Scientist at Gabbi, where research focused on breast cancer risk models. Prior roles include Senior Research Assistant in bioinformatics at OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, Graduate Student Researcher at Northwestern University, and various research positions at prestigious institutions such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and UC Santa Cruz, where Ashmitha gained expertise in molecular biology, computational tools, and machine learning applications.
