Shilpen Patel

Shilpen Patel, MD FACRO FASTRO, currently serves as a Global Development Leader at AbbVie and has been a Radiation Oncologist at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, CA, since June 2018. With over 17 years of academic experience as an Associate Professor in Global Health/Radiation Oncology at the University of Washington, Shilpen Patel has led initiatives that resulted in significant growth and revenue increases in the oncology department. Previous roles include Executive Medical Director at Mirati Therapeutics and Gilead Sciences, where strategic leadership in solid tumor oncology was emphasized, as well as Principal and Lead Medical Director at Roche, focusing on clinical research compliance and drug filing efficiencies. As Medical Director at GRAIL, Inc., Shilpen Patel played a crucial role in developing the first blood-only cancer screening test.
