Malek Mekawi

Malek Mekawi is a dedicated individual with diverse experience across various roles in academia and industry. Currently serving as a Research Assistant at CHARGE - Centre for Hybrid Automotive Research and Green Energy and an Outstanding Scholar and Research Assistant in the e-Minds Lab at the University of Windsor, Malek contributes to cutting-edge research in electrical micro and nano devices. Leadership roles include President of the Windsor Engineering Students' Society and Trustee for Wards 3, 4, and 10 at the Greater Essex County District School Board, where advocacy for the student body is central. Malek has also held several technical and support roles, including Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance positions at Stellantis and a Membership Clerk role at Costco Wholesale. With a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering expected in 2026, Malek continues to foster a positive academic environment while gaining practical experience in the engineering field.
