Ed Murphy

Ed Murphy serves as the Associate Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Wisconsin System since December 2018, providing dynamic leadership for an effective information security program that supports the institution’s mission. Prior to this role, Ed held several key positions within the University of Wisconsin-Extension, including Deputy CIO and CISO, where responsibilities included managing Central IT operations and establishing a Project Management Office. Ed's career also includes significant roles at the University of Arizona and various technology firms, focusing on information security, application development, and technical support. Ed holds a BS in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona and a BA in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Maryland.
