Katelyn Hammel

Research Technician at University of Wyoming

Katelyn Hammel is a dedicated professional with a strong background in wildlife biology and research. Currently serving as a Research Technician at the University of Wyoming since May 2024, Katelyn previously worked as a Wildlife Biologist at SummitWest Environmental, Inc. from May 2021 to May 2024. Katelyn began their career in wildlife conservation as a Wildlife Conservation Apprentice at The Oglebay Good Zoo for a brief period in early 2021. Prior experience includes tutoring at Veritas Collaborative, LLC and teaching English and music at a Chinese summer camp through Gotoco in 2019. Katelyn also gained valuable experience as a Summer Intern at FUMC Waynesville, where responsibilities encompassed event planning and community outreach. Katelyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, complemented by a degree in Conservation Biology from The School for Field Studies.
