Dr. Piera Filippi

Dr. Piera Filippi is a Lecturer and Course Designer at the University of Zurich since October 2019, and also serves as a Senior Cognitive Scientist within the NCCR Evolving Language project, contributing to the Transversal Task Force "Concepts" since December 2020. With prior experience as a Lecturer and Course Designer at the University of Basel (2022-2023) and a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at Aix-Marseille University (2017-2019), Dr. Filippi has focused on interdisciplinary research concerning the communicative role of prosody in humans and olive baboons. Additional roles include visiting PostDoc at the Max Planck Society (January 2017 - February 2017), Postdoctoral Researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (2014-2017), and multiple lectureships at Ruhr University Bochum. Dr. Filippi holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Philosophy of Language and Mind from Università degli Studi di Palermo, and has been a visiting PhD student in Cognitive Biology at the University of Vienna.
