Derek Jenkins, MD, is an experienced orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstruction of the hip and knee. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Brown Orthopedics since June 2024, Jenkins has held positions at University Orthopedics and Rhode Island Hospital since 2014, where responsibilities include admitting orthopaedic surgeon duties. Jenkins also served as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Brown University until April 2025. Jenkins completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Mayo Clinic Rochester in 2013 and underwent orthopedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital from 2007 to 2012. Education includes a Doctor of Medicine from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Biology from Dartmouth College.
