Robert Elder

Chief Physician Executive at UNIVERSITY PHYSICIANS ASSOCIATION INC

Robert Elder has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Robert currently serves as the Chief Physician Executive at University Physicians' Association, Inc. Since 2021. Prior to this, they worked at University Health Systems/University of Tennessee Medical Center from 2018 to 2021, holding the position of Vice President Women and Infants Center of Excellence. Robert also worked at UT Medical Center for many years, serving as the Vice President Women and Infants UTMCK and the Medical Director Women and Infants. Their career began in 1972 in the United States Air Force, where they held the role of Sgt until 1976.

Robert Elder obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy between 1977 and 1980. Robert then continued their education at the East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine, where they earned their MD degree in medicine from 1980 to 1984. Additionally, in June 2015, they obtained a certification as a Board Certified Subspecialist in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
