Christopher Spencer

Christopher Spencer currently serves as the Assistant Principal and Assistant School Director of Culture at University Prep Schools, a role held since July 2019, where responsibilities also include School Operations Manager and Restorative Practices Instructional Coach. Additionally, Christopher is the Detroit Lead Fellow for Teach For America Detroit since July 2022. Previous experiences include serving as a Restorative Practices Instructional Coach and High School Spanish Teacher at Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies from August 2015 to June 2019, and as a High School Spanish Teacher at University YES Academy and Detroit Public Schools Community District. Christopher's teaching career began as a Corps Member with Teach For America from June 2012 to July 2014, following intensive training and selection from a large pool of applicants. Education includes dual degrees in Spanish Language and Literature (BA) and Interdisciplinary Studies in Health Studies (BS) from Michigan State University, obtained in 2012.
