Dakim Duncan is currently the Beacon Program Director at University Settlement, a role held since September 2018, where responsibilities include overseeing programs that support diverse New Yorkers in achieving healthy and stable lives. Previous experience includes serving as the Program Director for SONYC, ensuring operational excellence in academic and enrichment programming, and working as an Activity Specialist. University Settlement is a neighborhood center that provides social services to residents of the Broadway/Slavic Village neighborhood in southeast Cleveland. We offer the individuals and families we serve resources by which they can learn, grow, and thrive by focusing on removing barriers to help overcome poverty, thus empowering citizens in Slavic Village to maximize their potential. We do this by protecting children, advancing literacy, providing nutritious meals, strengthening families and serving the elderly.
