Pierluigi Gazzolo

Pierluigi Gazzolo is President of Univision Communications Inc. and Chief Transformation Officer of the leading Spanish-language media and content company in the United States, where he leads the company’s ongoing transformation in partnership with Univision CEO Wade Davis. Gazzolo is responsible for creating Univision’s streaming business and propelling the company’s shift from traditional linear business to a market leading digital-first content company. In his role, Gazzolo oversees the following business units: Digital, including Digital Audio, Corporate Communications and Public Relations, and Human Resources, which are critical in driving the Company’s overall business transformation, organizational evolution and market growth.

A seasoned media executive with extensive experience in global streaming strategy and content acquisitions, Gazzolo has served in senior leadership roles for over 20 years. During his previous role as President of Streaming and Studios for ViacomCBS Networks International, he was hand-selected by the CEO to lead Viacom’s transformation from linear provider to a world-class digital-first media company. During his tenure at ViacomCBS, Gazzolo created the company’s first unified streaming division and led the positioning of Paramount+ and PlutoTV premium global content platforms. He also served as Chief Operating Officer for MTV Networks International and later for the broader Viacom International Media Networks. In his expanded role he oversaw the performance of the global organization and its 5,000 employees, launched Viacom’s channels in 40 new markets and improved its digital media presence. Earlier in his career, he served as President of ViacomCBS Networks for Latin America and Canada, where he led a transformational shift for the company through strategic acquisitions and launched its fast-growing international studios to realign ViacomCBS’s digital and streaming goals.

Gazzolo has served as a member of the Board of Directors for joint ventures with Sky Media, Seoul Broadcasting System and Rainbow SRL. He has been recognized with numerous awards throughout his career, including the World Screen 2020 Premio Ícono TV Latina Award at NATPE, the 2016 Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce Corporate Citizen of the Year Award and the 2011 Florida International University Alumni of the Year Award.

Gazzolo graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies. He resides in Miami.
