Cathy Ranstrom, SHRM-CP, aPHR, is an accomplished human resources professional with extensive experience in full cycle recruiting and administration. Currently serving as the Full Cycle Recruiting Lead at UNLV Health since September 2021, Cathy has also held roles as a Human Resources Recruiter and Human Resources Coordinator within the same organization. Prior to this, Cathy worked at Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas from August 2010 to September 2021 as a Registrar. Cathy began their career as an Administrative Assistant at BJG | Architecture + Engineering from February 2006 to January 2009. Cathy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management and Services from Colorado State University Global, attained between 2015 and 2018.

Overview In March 2016, the UNLV Board of Regents approved the framework and creation of the nonprofit corporation, UNLV Health, the clinical faculty practice plan of the the UNLV School of Medicine. The mission of UNLV Health is to provide a premier multi-specialty academic group practice and primary care physicians who strive to provide the highest quality health care. UNLV Health is a multi-specialty practice with over 350 employees, and 5 clinic locations with 151 providers. UNLV Health combines education and research within the treatment environment, and manages the faculty clinical practice. Through our clinical activity, our faculty practice plan supports the medical school’s missions of: • Providing exceptional medical care and superior patient experience. • Building clinical, education and research service lines and programs. • Translating leading scientific innovations into clinical practice. • Servicing the diverse health care needs of the southern Nevada region. • Providing learning experiences for graduate, and post-graduate medical education. • Be an environment for continuing education of physicians. • Maintain a fiscally viable clinical enterprise for the UNLV School of Medicine.
