Horacio Mones Ruiz

Horacio Mones Ruiz is a seasoned Project Manager and Infrastructure Asset Management and Capacity Building Specialist at UNOPS since August 2021, with extensive experience in civil engineering across various roles. Previously, Horacio served as a Civil Engineer Consultant at Aurecon, where responsibilities included client interactions and project coordination for multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. In a prior role as a Postgraduate Railway Engineer, significant achievements included cost savings and efficiency improvements through innovative programming tools. Horacio's earlier experience as a Research Engineer involved managing assessments and operational strategies for the Gautrain Network. Additional roles included facilitating university-level workshops and conducting research at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Horacio holds a Master’s and an Honours degree in Transportation Engineering, alongside a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, all from the University of Pretoria.
