Juan David Barahona

Juan David Barahona is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in infrastructure development across Latin America and the Caribbean. Currently serving as a Regional Infrastructure Advisor for UNOPS since January 2023, Barahona previously held roles including Senior Transport Consultant at Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo and Advisor for Public-Private Partnerships at Alcaldía Mayor de Bogotá, D.C. Notable achievements include leading a team at FONADE that managed over 1,600 infrastructure projects across Colombia, generating significant investments that benefitted numerous municipalities. Barahona has a robust background in project structuring and public policy implementation from various governmental roles, including serving as Director of Infrastructure at Colombia's Ministry of Transport. Academically, Barahona holds an MSc in Regional and Urban Planning from The London School of Economics and Political Science, a degree in Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and a degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
