Decarbonization Solutions Manager at Unravel Carbon

Rebekah Süsserott has worked in a variety of roles in the sustainability and oceanography fields. In 2022, they began working as a Decarbonization Solutions Manager for Unravel Carbon (YC W22). In 2021, they became a Sustainability Engagement Manager at Planetly, helping them to develop a presence and expand into the UK market. Rebekah was involved in client meetings, mentoring and coaching of new joiners and developing best practices within the Business Development team. From 2019-2021, Rebekah worked at the National University of Singapore as a Research Associate and Research Assistant, focusing on Atmospheric Microplastics and Marine Debris. From 2017-2019, they worked at ADMIRALTY Maritime Products & Services as an Impact Analysis - Marine Geospatial Data Assessor and Hydrographic Data Technician. In 2016, they worked as a Receptionist and Marketing Assistant at Ince & Co. In 2015, they were a Divemaster Trainee at Big Fish Diving. From 2008-2014, Rebekah worked in a variety of roles, including national brand promotion campaigns, customer service roles, and research volunteer positions at various Marine Parks. During this time, they also completed Masters Independent Research Project Fieldwork and Geophysical Fieldwork at the National Oceanography Centre.

Rebekah Süsserott completed a Master's in Science (Msci) degree in Oceanography from the University of Southampton between 2010 and 2015. Prior to this, they attended George Abbot School between 2002 and 2009, studying A-level Biology, Chemistry, German, and Physics. Rebekah has also obtained a variety of certifications, including a Business Sustainability Management (online short course) from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) in 2021, an Expert Track - Marine Litter MOOC from the Open Universiteit in 2021, a Day Skipper Theory from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) in 2018, a PADI Divemaster from PADI in 2015, a Personal Survival Techniques (STCW) from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in 2011, a Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award from The Duke of Edinburgh's Award in 2008, and a React Right First Aid and Oxygen Administrator from Scuba Schools International in 2015.
