Praveen Kannan

Praveen Kannan has a diverse work experience spanning over different companies and roles. Praveen is currently the Director of Engineering at Unravel Data since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Adobe in various positions including Head of OnPrem Data Platform and Shared Services from May 2019 to February 2023, and Lead of Platform Engineering and Shared Services from September 2017 to May 2019. Praveen also has experience at Cloudera as a Software Engineer from May 2016 to September 2017, and at Ayasdi as a Senior Engineering Manager and Distributed Systems Software Engineer from January 2014 to May 2016. Praveen has previous roles at Zynga as a Senior Software Engineer from February 2012 to January 2014, and as a Software Engineer from April 2010 to March 2012. Praveen also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota from August 2007 to January 2010. Praveen was a Teaching Assistant at the Carlson School of Management from August 2008 to January 2009, and an R&D MTS Intern at VMware from May 2008 to July 2008. Praveen started their career as a Senior Project Engineer at Wipro Technologies from August 2005 to June 2007, where they focused on Data Warehouse loads and incident resolution.

Praveen Kannan has a strong education background in computer science and engineering. Praveen obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Following their undergraduate studies, Praveen pursued further education and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota between 2007 and 2009.

In addition to their formal education, Praveen has also obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. In 2014, they completed the "MongoDB for Java Developers" certification offered by MongoDB, Inc.
